1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Kansha (“the Service”), operated by BeechTree LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
For Teachers: By creating classroom roster records, you represent that you have the authority to act on behalf of your school in accordance with your institution’s policies and applicable law.

New sign-ups from outside the United States are not accepted. Kansha is available in English and Spanish for US classrooms and families.

The Service collects only the minimum data necessary — specifically email and name for teachers, and roster information for students — in compliance with all applicable data protection regulations. Teacher emails are never used for marketing purposes.
3. Accounts & Roster Records
As a condition to using Kansha, you may be required to register and provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
Teacher Accounts
- Register using Google OAuth (recommended) or email and password
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You agree to notify BeechTree LLC immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- BeechTree LLC will not be liable for any losses caused by unauthorized use of your account
Student Roster Records
Kansha is a teacher-administered tool. Teachers create and maintain student records as part of classroom administration — for example, to track token balances, classroom participation, and store purchases. Students do not self-register for Kansha and do not provide email addresses.
Teacher-managed records: All student roster records are created and managed by the teacher responsible for the classroom. Records consist of a first name, last name, and avatar — encrypted at rest and visible only to the teacher who created them.
4. Teacher Responsibilities
Teachers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account information and for all activities that occur under their account.
- Creating and maintaining accurate roster records for the classrooms you administer
- Ensuring your use of Kansha aligns with your school’s technology and student-records policies
- Operating within your authority as an educational professional when entering student information
- Safeguarding classroom access codes and any credentials issued to students for in-classroom use
5. Roster Data Protection
Classroom rosters often include records of minors. Kansha treats roster data as sensitive information and protects it with the following safeguards:
- Encrypted at rest: All student roster PII is encrypted before it is written to our database
- Server-side encryption: Encryption keys and plaintext PII never reach the browser
- Teacher-only access: Roster records are visible only to the teacher who created them
- No advertising: Roster data is never used for advertising, profiling, or commercial gain
- Never sold: Roster data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes
Important: Teachers should ensure their use of Kansha aligns with their school’s technology and student-records policies. If you have questions about your school’s requirements, please consult your school administration before creating roster records.
6. Privacy & Data Security
Kansha is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services. This information is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
AES-256 Encryption
All roster PII encrypted at rest with industry-standard encryption
Server-Side Keys
Encryption and decryption happen only on our servers — keys never reach the browser
Google Cloud Platform
Secure, reliable infrastructure with regular security audits
We use industry-standard security measures to protect personal information, including encryption of sensitive data, secure servers, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
For full details about how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.
7. Teacher Content
Teachers may create and store content within Kansha — for example, classroom configuration, store items, reward descriptions, group definitions, and notes. By submitting content, you grant BeechTree LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display such content for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not infringe upon the rights of others
- Teacher content remains within your classroom — it is not viewable outside the intended educational context
- Content used in classroom games and stores should be age-appropriate
8. AI-Powered Features and Content
Kansha’s AI features are teacher-facing design tools: image generation for coins, branding, group art, and store pictures; token-name and theme suggestions; and identification of store items from a photo. Grammar Quest, a grammar game, uses AI to write practice sentences, which the teacher previews before opening them to the class, and to read fixed sentences aloud. Every AI feature is started by a teacher. Our Privacy Policy lists what each provider receives.
AI-Generated Content
Content produced by AI features is generated automatically and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for every context. Teachers and administrators should review AI-generated content as they would any educational material. Kansha does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated responses.
Student Data and AI
No student writing or roster records are sent to any AI provider. Students cannot type free text anywhere in Kansha: a Token Swap note is chosen from a short, fixed list of kind phrases. The one student detail an AI service receives is a first name on its own, used by Grammar Quest to read a sentence aloud. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Student-created content remains the property of the student and their parent or guardian.
Teacher and Administrator Responsibility
Teachers decide whether to use the AI design tools, whether to open a Grammar Quest, and whether to turn on Token Swap for a class. Use of AI features should align with your school or district’s acceptable use policy for AI in education.
Limitations
AI features require an active internet connection and depend on third-party service availability. Kansha is not responsible for temporary unavailability of AI features due to third-party outages. AI-generated content should supplement, not replace, direct teacher instruction and professional judgment.
9. Prohibited Conduct
Users are prohibited from engaging in activities that are harmful to the platform or other users, including but not limited to:
- Uploading malicious code or attempting to compromise platform security
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or data
- Using the Service for any unlawful purposes
- Discriminating against, harassing, or bullying any individual
- Attempting to access, collect, or store roster personally identifiable information outside the platform
Any prohibited activity may result in immediate termination of your account and possible legal action.
10. Classroom Usage Guidelines
Kansha is intended for use in an educational setting. Teachers and administrators are responsible for ensuring that the use of Kansha complies with school policies and all applicable laws.
- The platform should only be used for legitimate educational purposes
- Token awards should be fair, consistent, and aligned with positive behavior goals
- Classroom stores and rewards should be age-appropriate
- Teachers should model respectful and inclusive use of the platform
11. Intellectual Property
All content and materials available on Kansha — including but not limited to the software, design, text, graphics, logos, and icons — are the property of BeechTree LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use of any content is strictly prohibited.
12. Third-Party Services
Kansha integrates with a small number of third-party services that are not owned or controlled by BeechTree LLC:
- Google Classroom: Optional integration for roster synchronization
- Google OAuth: Authentication for teacher accounts
- Firebase / Google Cloud Platform: Secure infrastructure hosting and database (including Firebase Analytics for basic, aggregate usage statistics)
- Stripe: Payment processing for paid subscriptions
- Vercel: Web hosting and deployment
- Anthropic, OpenAI & Google AI: Power the optional teacher-facing AI design tools (coin, branding, and group-art image generation; token-name and theme suggestions; photo-based store item identification) and Grammar Quest (practice sentences and read-aloud). They receive what the teacher typed or photographed, grammar practice requests, and for read-aloud a first name on its own — no roster data, and nothing a student produced
- Sentry: Error monitoring, with automatic redaction of personal information before anything is recorded
BeechTree LLC has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. All privacy protections remain in place — roster data is encrypted within Kansha and never exposed to external systems in identifiable form.
13. Limitation of Liability
BeechTree LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BeechTree LLC, its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
15. Account Termination
BeechTree LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in any behavior that we deem harmful to the community or the integrity of our Service.
Data Deletion: Upon termination, all account data — including classroom roster records — will be deleted in compliance with applicable data protection regulations and cannot be recovered.
16. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
PLEASE NOTE: These Terms contain a dispute resolution and binding arbitration provision, including a class action waiver that affects your rights. Except for certain disputes described in this section, you agree that disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration, and you and BeechTree LLC are each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in any class action or representative proceeding.
